More than 30 people were injured and 77 fires were still burning throughout the state, with 42 uncontained 10.40pm GMT NSW Rural Fire Service deputy commissioner Rob Rogers said there had been reports of “a significant loss of koalas” in the northern NSW fires.“They’re not very quick animals, they are very vulnerable.
